What started in 2003 as a toy drive to celebrate the relocation of the world’s largest Santa Claus from Carpinteria to Oxnard has grown into a robust running event, toy drive, community fundraiser, and holiday season celebration. The Half Marathon and Two-Person Relay starts at the legendary Santa Claus statue, located along the 101 freeway in Nyeland Acres, near Oxnard. The runners follow a flat and fast course, along the fragrant strawberry fields, through Downtown Oxnard and the Henry T. Oxnard Historic District decorated for the holidays, to the beach, and finish at Channel Islands Harbor.
