Meet the Ambassadors

2018 Ambassadors

Amanda Cunningham

Santa to the Sea holds a special place for me because it is my home. My first Santa to the Sea was in 2012 and I've raced it every year since then, even pregnant with my second child. I train here in Oxnard, a running mom pushing both my boys. I've completed two marathons and 12 half marathons in my ten years of running. It is an honor and I'm excited to be a part of this amazing race that brings so much to our community and such a fun, festive race for all runners. You can find me on instagram @retrorunningmom for training and some views of the course.

Victor Hurtado

My name is Victor and I haven't stopped running since I started a few years ago. You can find me running the streets of Santa Maria pretty much 6 days a week, every week, every month, every year! I enjoy running any distance ranging from a mile to a marathon. From road races to trail races. From lifting weights to riding my bike. I like to do a little bit of everything, but of course my passion is running and that's why some people know me as Running Victor. Come join me this December for this amazing, flat, fast course, and let's get a PR!!! I have successfully paced this race in the past so I'm familiar with the course. If you have any questions just ask and I'll help you out. I enjoy helping other runners reach their goals so for this race I will be pacing the 1:30 half marathon group. If that's your goal just stay with me and I'll get you across that finish line a few seconds under 1:30. Who's ready for a PR???
You can find me on instagram:@running_victor

Ana Martinez

I am a veteran long-distance runner, currently working as a health educator in our farm worker community. Being an ambassador means I am able to share my passion for running, physical activity and being part of my community. I am lucky to be surrounded by friends and family who support me and look forward to be part of Santa to the Sea 2018.

Patricia Sanchez

My name is Patty, I'm a mommy, wife, work full time, and a runner! I started my running journey one year ago to help cope with my anxiety. The passion I have for running is huge. Running didn’t come easy but that’s what I liked, I loved the challenge it gave me. I have now completed three half marathons and currently training for my first full marathon, I have accomplished so much in just one year. From the support of my husband and amazing new running friends, it's all been possible. I will be running Santa to the Sea in hopes of a new PR! I'm truly blessed and honored to have been chosen as an ambassador. I hope to inspire others with their own running journey. Running truly changed my life, it also saved me. So come out and join me in this fun, fast, and festive race! You'll be glad you did! Give me a follow on Instagram PAT_RUNNER82

Mallarie Stevens

My first ever race was the Mountains to Beach Half Marathon in 2015. I’ve since run a total of five half marathons throughout the south Central Coast and I can’t wait to run another one right here in my own backyard. That’s why I’m so excited to be an ambassador for Santa to the Sea! I am by no means a fast runner, but I don’t run for speed. I run for the challenge, the mental clarity, and the sense of freedom that only running can bring. On race day, you’ll find me somewhere in the middle of the pack – amongst other athletes of all sizes, ages, backgrounds, and paces. In the meantime, I’ll be sharing all aspects of my training -- from the pain of the weekly long run to the joy of crossing the finish line – with you on my Instagram: @runforcupcakes! Join me in Oxnard this December! Have questions or want to chat? Let me know!
